Cascading Delete Issue

Is there a configuration for cascading delete? When I read the documentation and followed the instructions at this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFhcbdhaaec, the author is deleted but I get 'Reference no longer exist' instead of the record being deleted in the books table. Is that the default behavior? I expect the records in the book table to be deleted also.
