Xano as API Proxy/Gateway?

I’m looking at security tools to sit in front of Xano as a proxy or gateway.

I’m wondering why I wouldn’t use Xano in front of Xano?

Anyone gone down this road, currently using an API gateway/proxy/WAF, or otherwise?

Security experts are loudly proclaiming “don’t DIY your app/api security…!”

Some of the vendors I spoke with are looking at $2,500/month.
